I live in Canada,

I have plan to buy a house, could any body tell me how much ruffly should I pay to lawyer ?

It's hard to say, I've heard some in the range of $400/hr. You can try sites like the one below though and call the attorneys. They should give you a estimate of what their charges would be. Anyways, good luck!

Yes, you don't need a lawyer to buy a house. However, forgive me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you may have a slight language barrier, and understanding what you're signing is extremely important. Land transactions are very complicated and must be done perfectly in order to be valid.

A less expensive option in some jurisdictions is to have the work done by a Notary Public (NP). Your realtor can probably suggest one, or get a referral from a friend.

In any case, the price of a lawyer or a notary public can vary from one jurisdiction to another. You may want to phone a couple of lawyers or NPs and find out what their rate is. Remember, however, that when a professional quotes a flat rate or a percentage of the cost of the house, they will ALWAYS add disbursements on to that bill, unless they make a written agreement with you to the contrary. So be sure to ask the professional whether disbursements will be added on.

(Disbursements = the cost of things like phone calls on your behalf, photocopies, filing fees, etc.)

Hope this helps.

They usually have a set fee. In U. S. of A., Illinois, it runs around $500.00. They make sure all the t's are crossed and i's dotted.

You don't need a lawyer to buy a house.
