Lawyer.............?

I hate when people tell people they cant do this or do that go in that AP class or become a Lawyer, because your not in any honor classes in high school. My argument is that anyone can do it as long is that you put your mind to it. Just study. This is why i hate honor kids they think there so much better. Whereas my cousin went to the worst school in Brooklyn Kingsborough and winded up being a lawyer.....anyone agree

It really depends on the individuals ambitions.

.

Sadly, putting your mind to it is sometimes not enough. Some people are better at different things. I am great in math but I wouldn't do well in AP History or Art, because my reading comprehension is not high enough and I can't draw a decent stick-figure.

Teachers REALLY want what is best for you. They know how difficult their course is. Besides, why would you want to force yourself to do 3 hours of homework per night in an AP class when you can get by with one hour in a regular class. If the AP class is in your strong area, then yes you would want to do it because you want to know everything you can learn in that area.

Plenty of lawyers and doctors never had an AP class, but people trying to get into a college with competitive admissions need the AP classes in their transcript.

Maybe they are speaking from a competition stand point. If you don't take the challenging courses in high school it could indicate you are not capable of doing the work.
